Inspired by a recent book club read about Frances Perkins, I reflect on labor protections, women in public service, and the responsibility of independent oversight in Denver government.

Denver’s MLK Marade served as a timely reminder that equity requires intentional oversight, and that audits can help identify where City systems fall short for residents.
