Stepping Forward to Serve: My Candidacy for Denver Auditor

Today - January 4, 2026 - I filed my official paperwork to run for the position of Denver Auditor. I first started contemplating the idea three years ago after Tim O’Brien was elected for his third and final term. Running for office was never something I considered as part of my career. I’m an auditor and have been for over a decade. I do not consider myself a politician. But, when discussing my thoughts with Auditor O’Brien, he was incredibly encouraging. “You can do this,” he said. And so it began.

Over the last few years, I’ve met with different leaders in Denver - people who I’d worked with, people who didn’t particularly love the Auditor’s Office, and colleagues. It was insightful and also humbling when people would respond by saying I would be excellent for the job. I also worked hard to obtain another certification in fraud examination to further my knowledge and skillset.

Upon clicking the “submit” button, I felt excited. I know that I can be the best Auditor for Denver and leader for the office. And, I’m looking forward to what comes next.
